An Encounter with the Salzburg Festival in Dialogue

Neue Residenz – First floor

The largest section of the exhibition covers ten rooms and is an invitation to experience unique encounters with the Salzburg Festival. The tour is based on two approaches: on the one hand, each room is conceived as an approach to a concept very
closely linked to the Festival, the synthesis of the arts – the Gesamtkunstwerk. On the other, the exhibition sections are based on dialogues with institutions (Vienna Jewish Museum, Vienna Theatre Museum, Salzburg Literature Archive, Vienna Philharmonic
Orchestra) and also with artists (Werner Feiersinger, Lionel Favre, John Bock, Eva Schlegel, Yinka Shonibare). Each of them was invited to react to the Festival from their perspective and to participate in a collective narrative with their respective
knowledge, experience and skills.
